Relaxer hair sales yet again as natural hair sales rises to 774 million

The fall of the  popular relaxers and the increase in natural hair products confirms that the natural hair "trend" is now a moment and is here to stay making more black woman everywhere the choice to go natural.

Is not a lot of statistic on the natural hair businesses but it shows that the natural hair movement is real also in market sales.

Well many speculate it though main reasons behind the popularity of the black hair moment at the hair is obvious for years woman have been told and also been discourage my wearing their hair natural. It means giving little girls to power to know that curly can mean pretty

Are you thinking about returning to Natural hair start asking yourself why make sure you do it for the right reasons and do enough research to make your journey a lot easier

One of Google Chrome Extension Helps You Find Black-Owned Businesses Online

Buying Black has become more popular.  Many of us are making a concerted effort to buy from small and/or independently-owned black businesses. from Makeup to Skincare to Handbags to Swimsuits you name it, we’ve covered it. And that not the only ones. Several Black-run blogs have shared a few  lists of black businesses we can all support.

finding the company that sells exactly what you need when you need it,  however, can be a bit of challenge.  Thanks to Angelica Colemans invention of a BuyBlack Google Chrome Extension, our problems have been solved.
BuyBlack is a Chrome extension that helps online buyers easily shop black-owned businesses. Here’s how it works:

  1. Download and activate the extension Here.
  2. Go to your selected retailer’s website.
  3. Click on the little black fist in the upper right-hand corner
for  this instance, I used  my favorite spot to buy makeup,Ulta By clicking on the black fist, I was presented with a number of black-owned cosmetics companies to shop from instead. isn't this awesome

Coleman says her reason for creating the extension was simple:
I think over the past 2 years that it’s become so apparent how little things are created with black men and woman in mind, and I was so frustrated with not being able to find  things that were made for me.
especially  common in Silicon Valley to hear people say things like,  “Black people aren’t easy to find,  or they aren’t qualified, or that they don’t do great things so they aren’t hired.”
I wanted to remind people that that’s not true and that black people do create things. We’re not invisible in society.

keep up the good work Angelica.

I have tried a product from New York Color before and was happy with the product. I do like this eyeliner. It was easy to use and lasted for a long time so it was nice that I didn't have to reapply it after a couple of hours.plus I’m running low on eyeliner  I mean I’m completely out, and the NYC New York City Color City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeliner couldn’t have showed up at a better time.

How do I start my Locs/dreads ???

The question I get asked the most is,  “How do I start my Locs/Dreads ?
As you guys know now i have started growing locs  its been 3 weeks now so im going though this loc journey
There are many ways in which people tend to get started, but I’m going to give you my top 5 methods that have worked for me  and my friends and family.

Method 1 – Braids
If  you have long natural hair, braids are a great way to get your locs/dreads started.  You can either braid your natural hair or get braid extensions put in to do this method.  Start by braiding your hair  into individual or box braids.  Your locs will begin to form over time as you wash your hair without undoing the braids.  The braids will become kinky in the long run and mature into “normal looking” locs.

Method 2 – comb coiled
To start your Locs/dreads with the twisting method you wash and moisturize your hair.  Next take sections of hair and roll it between your fingers either clockwise or counter clockwise, depending on which direction is more comfortable for you I’m left  handed so I naturally tend to twist to the right or left dont matter .  For this method it would be wise to use a hair butter or a hair gel to help the hair hold in the twisted position.

Method 3 – Palm Rolling

With the Palm Rolling method, you place a section of hair between your palms and roll the hair from root to tip either clockwise or counter clockwise. Again I would recommend using a hair butter or a hair gel to help the hair hold the twisted position. i say this is only best for med/long length  hair  instead of short hair.

Method 4 – 2 Strand/Double Strand Twist
2 Strand/Double Strand Twist are created by taking a section of hair and splitting that section into 2 sections which you then wrap around each other from root to tip.  This method has been a client favorite in the past for those who wanted to see what their hair would look like in locs/dreads with a temporary hair style.

Method 5 – Interlocking

Interlocking is the method of taking a section of hair and looping it through the base of itself. You pinch the end if you are starting from scratch and loop the end of the hair section through the base of the hair section. Doing this over and over in a different space each time will cause your hair to look like it is already somewhat loced/locked by the time you reach the base/root of your hair.  Locs/Locks are created from hair matting naturally.  The interlocking method creates a hand made matted effect, which in the long run can help your hair lock quicker.  Interlocking works especially well on softer grads of hair which tend to have more trouble locing/locking or just take longer to loc/lock.

Well, those are my Fave 5 when it comes to methods for starting Locs/Locks.  I hope they are helpful in assisting you on your new loc/lock journey.  The twisting, palm rolling & interlocking methods can all be used to maintain your locs/locks once they have matured as well.

Clarify that hair

So your hair been in a Protective style for a weeks to a month and now u have buildup  before you grab that expensive bottle of non working shampoo. here 5 DIY Clarifying Shampoos.

1.Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Use this easy recipe to get rid of that icky residue left behind by butters and styling creams which can cause the hair to look dull over time.
8 oz applicator bottle | 2-3 oz of ACV | warm water | essential oil(s)- Optional
Fill your bottle with ACV, the rest with water. Add a few drops of your essential oils of choice.Shake it up, massage it in, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse well with cool water. Apple Cider Vinegar   also closes the hair cuticle to promote smoother, shinier hair and will help balance the pH of the hair and scalp. Take care not to get this in your eyes, it burns! The smell may linger when wet but will dissipate as your hair dries.that hair will be squeaky clean after one use of this .
It doesn't work for everyone but a little try doesn't hurt ....
 2.Baking Soda Rinse
This clarifying potion will get rid of that nasty residue without making the hair feel stripped. I especially like to use this rinse to remove buildup when I’m wearing protective styles like braids or twists.
spray bottle | one (1) tbsp. baking soda |1.5 cups of warm water
Place your ingredients in the bottle and shake it up well. If your hair is long or really thick, feel free to double the ingredients but don’t add more baking soda unless you add more water. The mixture should be liquidity, not chalky . Spray onto the scalp and hair, massage it in, leave on for about three minutes then rinse thoroughly.

3.Rhassoul Clay
You may need to head to a specialty or health food store for this one. Rhassoul is a mineral-rich, natural clay that has been used for centuries to enhance texture and volume, soften the hair and eliminate dandruff. Not only does it safely clarify the hair and scalp but it also detoxifies.
What I love about all of these options is that they’re natural, quick and they get the job done without making your hair feel dry in the process. While the hair is deeply cleansed and clarified, the moisture is left intact.
4.Fresh Rosemary
Fresh Rosemary Boiled in water for 10 mins... let cool use in hair for your final rinse  Rosemary is a excellent Clarifiers because they are known to nourish the hair follicles and stimulate hair growth.
5. Coconut Water

Coconut water  is really good  did you know 100 percent coconut water contains vitamins such as C,B1,B2,B3,B5,B6 and Amino Acids and Antioxidants ...pure beauty when it comes to clarifying your hair  use it warm water  and goddess hair in the works..

I Also heard that vodka can be great clarifier if you have Braids and Locs people. so any saved vodka use it.Vodka detoxes hair and scalp, thoroughly removing product buildup and minerals from hard water. Vodka also acts as a disinfectant on the scalp, killing off fungus and bacteria that may be slowing hair growth or creating itchy dry scalps and dandruff. Your hair will be shinier and bouncier as well.
Simply add 2 tablespoons or so of your favorite vodka to your regular shampoo and wash hair normally. Follow up with a good quality moisturizing conditioner, then style.

after using one of these clarifiers  use.....
  • Aloe Vera juice can also be used as an acidic rinse (some people prefer it to vinegar because of the vinegar smell). Mix 2 tablespoons of aloe juice into 2 cups of water and use as a final rinse to clarify hair after shampooing.
  • 3 cups of water combined with 1 tsp raw apple cider vinegar
  • Juice of one lemon squeezed into 4 cups of water. This rinse is especially good for highlights, bleached hair or light colored hair

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen...try these 5 well 6 Alternatives and one gots to work for you let me know
