Beauty On A Budget

Sometimes the best beauty products come from the corner store.  Seriously, who said you have to spend big bucks to keep up with the beauty trends?! That never came from me, I know that because my favorite foundation right now is Black Opal and guess how much I paid for it??? Only $10, yup just $10!  And that’s not all my favorite eyeliner is by Maybelline and it costs me a whopping $8!
Check out more of my drug store faves under $10….
SKINCARE
Cetaphil face wash – A gentle face wash perfect for sensitive skin. ($10)
Garnier Dark Spot Corrector – A little vitamin C goes a long way with this stuff. ($13, okay a little over $10 but totally worth the extra $3 and you can probably find it on sale at your local drugstore).

FOUNDATION / CONCEALER
Black Opal Foundation Stick - A full coverage foundation for women of color. One of my favorite foundations! ($9.50)
L’Oreal True Match – You’re bound to find your shade with this foundation. ($9 to $11 depending on your drugstore).
L’Oreal BB Magic – This self-adjusting BB cream is perfect for the minimalist or girl on the go. ($9 to $11 depending on your drugstore).
Rimmel Match Perfection Match Perfection Skin Tone Adapting Concealer - I bought this because it was on sale for like $2 and now I love it. It self adjusts to your skin tone and perfect for under the eye because it’s light and blends easily. Snatch this beauty secret for only $6!
20140427-202237.jpg
LIPS
Covergirl Lip Perfection - I love these creamy colors! Covergirl offers a wide range of colors from nudes to reds to plums. ($5)
Maybelline ColorSensational – Every single time I wear this lipstick someone asks what is it…MAC? Nope, Maybelline honey! ($8)
Maybelline Baby Lips - The best lip balm out there (well in my opinion). This stuff is great alone or under your favorite lipstick. And they come in the cutest colors. ($4)
Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Color – If you’re sleepin’ on Wet N Wild than shame on you. This lip color gives a vibrant color and seriously lasts all day long. ($2)
20140427-202415.jpg
EYES
Maybelline Master Precise ink liner - I have never been able to make a line so straight before I got this liner pin! ($8)
L’Oreal Voluminous False Lashes Mascara – Okay now I have my favorites when it comes to mascaras, but whenever I’m in the drugstore I always have to grab one or two of these babies and guess how much? I, luckily, always catch this when there’s a BOGO sale. ($9)
20140427-203041.jpg
BLUSH
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush - I came across this in a magazine being used on Zoe Saldona. I went to the store the very next day and grabbed it. I had never tried a blush by Maybelline, so was surprised when I fell in love with this. It’s not your typical powder blush, it’s like a soft creamy powder that can easily be applied with your fingers. Great price and the colors and bright and bold! ($8)
L’Oreal Visible Lift Blush - I usually dont buy Blush but i just decided I ran into my local drugstore and grabbed this. The texture takes some getting used to, but once you do the color is amazing and lasts all day. ($13)hw20140427-202740.jpg
HAIR
Organix Coconut Water Hydration Spray – My hair gets super dry by midday and it seemed that no matter what I used my hair would just drink it up. I took a chance on this because it was on sale 50% off. I’m glad I did! It’s a light misting spray with oil & water to hydrate & shine your hair. Now I can go 3 days with the same “wash & go” curls. ($10)
Garnier Fructis – Pretty much everything in this line is great. I currently use the Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Spray and the Blow Dry Perfector. ($4 – $6)
20140427-203730.jpg
NAILS
Essie – My favorite nail polish and considering I’ve been painting my nails since the 3rd grade, I think I know a little something about my “obsessive” love for nail polish. These colors last for days! ($8)
Wet N Wild Mega Last – I love the brush this polish comes with, but not only that, the colors are great and this polish lasts for days. ($3)

Product Review: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Like my never-ending quest for the perfect eyeshadow, I’m always searching for an eyeliner that will actually stay where I put it.  Every eyeliner I use either just along my lash line or in my water line seems to smudge and smear. The biggest problem I have is that pretty much all of my eyeliners seem to smear under my eyes making little dark circle marks beneath my eyes. To be fair, my mascara is also usually to blame. I think I may have found an eyeliner that won’t smear, it isn’t a pencil, which is my preferred format, but it is well behaved and that counts for a lot.

Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is a felt-tip style liquid eye liner pen. The tip comes to a fine point for precision application and is reasonably flexible for comfort. The pen’s cap closes very securely so you don’t have to worry about it popping off in your purse or makeup bag, leaving a huge mess. The color, intense black, is a very dark, true black and the finish is neither particularly glossy nor matte.

love using this pen to fill in between my eyelashes because the precision tip is so fine and skinny it can reach between my lashes without making a mess. Intense Black is a very appropriate name. This pen is an incredibly deep, true black that really makes your lash line look bold.

Want to take this off  This isn’t a problem at all with Stila’s pen! I simply saturate a cotton swab with eye makeup remover or pure Almond or Grapeseed Oil and gently swirl or rub it over the liner and it comes right off without fuss or irritation.

I haven’t had any problems with this pen drying out or being inconsistent at all. Felt-tip style eyeliner pens have a tendency to dry out rather quickly. I’ve been using my Stila pen for several months and it’s still going strong.

What do you think of felt-tip pen style liners? Do you use liquid liner? Let me know your thoughts on Stila’s liner in the comments below!

Beauty | Kat Von D Spellbinding Lipstick Set

I went off on a little Sephora shopping spree recently with one of my aunts and picked up a few things.  When I saw her talking about this Spellbinding Lipstick Set by Kat Von D, I just knew I had to try them out.  Excuse me?!? Did  you say a set of 10 lipsticks from one of my favorite brands for just $36??? I Know I Know but its a good Price Ladies....

these are mini lipsticks, they're highly pigmented so it doesn't take much to get the true color pay-off and they aren't in the least bit chalky.  This also means that although they come in a tiny little package, they'll actually last a while.  When applying the lippies, all it took was one swipe They glide on smooth and with a lustre finish so my lips stay moisturized

Right now im looking for dupes for those who are a reasonable but money saving mama (like me)
And i will make a new post for you lovely NBD's

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser has landed in the US!!!!

the one product that I've heard the most people wish and hope and pray would come to the US is Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. This product is very popular in other countries (you can search Google for tons of reviews) and up until now, you could only order it via sites like Sasa if you were in the US.

You can be SURE that I'll be reviewing this primer once I get my hot little hands on a tube. Until then, are you excited that this product has FINALLY come to the US?

5 though 10 Homemade Beauty Products

#10 Go Brunette!

Go from mousy brown to rich brown in the privacy of your own shower. Take a bottle of shampoo, squeeze out half, then fill the remaining space with cocoa, and, finally, shake vigorously. Shampoo as you routinely do and admire your rich hues. Your friends will definitely give two thumbs up to your new ‘do!

#9 Super Simple Homemade Bronzer

This one is so simple that you may feel skeptical, but it’s awesome! Simply combine ground cinnamon and nutmeg with cocoa powder and cornstarch. You may notice that there are no measurements, and this is because it is entirely up to you and your desired color. Play around before you settle on the ratio perfect for your skin. Before you gift it to a girlfriend, remember to consider her skin tone and make necessary adjustments.

#8 Face Off: Blueberry Face Mask

Your favorite summertime lunch can now be worn on your face to repair and exfoliate your skin. Mash up ten blueberries and combine with one tablespoon of Greek yogurt then apply to your face. Sit still for 20 minutes to soak in the antioxidants then rinse off with warm water. Admire your new skin with the fervor of Narcissus and take on the day!

#7 Homemade Nail Strengthener

Get ready for the smelliest beauty remedy on the list! Take a bottle of clear nail polish and add one, finely crushed, clove of garlic. Let this bizarre mixture sit for at least a week, and then apply it for tough as nails fingernails. We recommend applying it as a base coat once a week (make sure to remove it before applying more) to increase your nail power.

#6 Face Off: Oatmeal Face Mask

Yum, breakfast for your face! Mix 1/4 cup of ground oatmeal (yes, we definitely recommend tossing this in a food processor first) with 1/4 cup of warm water and two teaspoons of honey. Resist the urge to eat this, and instead spread it over your face and sit still for fifteen minutes. Now you can rinse away with warm water and enjoy the freshness of your skin

#5 Homemade Solid Perfume
Solid perfume is awesome, no question about it. Make your own with equal parts beeswax and carrier oil (we recommend two teaspoons of each) and essential oil. Melt the beeswax and carrier oil together then add essential oil until you get the scent you desire. For a stronger scent, try a sweet almond carrier oil; for a lighter scent, stick with a nice olive one.

How to grow longer eyelashes naturally

It is said that the real beauty of the eye is defined by its lashes. Long, dark and beautiful eyelashes have some sort of appeal that the eye looks absolutely gorgeous. For this many women die to have long and thick eyelashes, and this choice drives them towards the purchases of various lashes enhancing formulas. Mascaras are one of the most adored women cosmetic because it provides a layer of style and beauty to the eye. Similarly, the trend of wearing fake eyelashes is also widely seen. There are ample artificial ways to fulfill the desire of getting bold eyelashes, but how about trying to get the same effect naturally?

 Swap through all the natural medications and remedies and get beautiful eyelashes naturally;

Use of oil:
Make a habit of applying either castor or olive oil each night before to end up in bed. In order to do this, you just need a pair of clean mascara brush and apply it in the same way as you wear mascara. In case, you don’t have a mascara brush, you can just use your fingers for applying the oil. Next morning you can simply wash and face and get rid of sticky oil on the lashes and wear whatever makeup you do.
Use petroleum jelly:
You have to leave the petroleum jelly on the eyelashes overnight and follow the same procedure that used for applying olive or castor oil.
Use egg white:
You may have the complaint that you lose your eyelashes frequently. If you are intending to make them stronger, then just use the mixture of egg white and castor oil. Use 2 drops from both the mixture and mix them together, apply with the lashes brush and leave it overnight.
Minimize the time of cosmetics:
Your eyelashes would always need fresh air, so try to remove the eyeliner or mascara as soon as you are home from the occasion. Also, keep your eye lashes free from cosmetics most of the time and make sure the applied cosmetic gets removed properly.
Avoid the use of fake eyelashes:
It is said that fake eyelashes harm the natural ones, so try not to use them, if not necessary. Also, many use Kohl on a daily basis; however, it is said that should be used because it contains lead which affects the eye health.
Check for eye dandruff:
Eyelashes get badly affected with eye dandruff, so make sure you are not having one such issue. It weakens the eye hair and leads to eyelash loss.
Healthy eating:
Make sure your intake of food is healthy. Try to consume fresh fruits and vegetables so that intake of vitamins and proteins inside the body increases. Also, add whole grain items in your meal. Fish, red and white meat is also very essential for the health and growth of eyelashes. Indeed, a better health inside increases the beauty of the body outside.
